Drawing inspiration from the Fantastic Beasts and Harry Potter series, fans of the franchise will feel right at home. Throughout their exploration of the game, players will come across a diverse range of magical beasts, each with their own disposition. These creatures will prove vital in shaping the players’ adventures within the wizarding world.

How To Catch Beasts In Hogwarts Legacy

In the game Hogwarts Legacy, players will embark on a main story mission called “The Elf, the Nab-Sack, and the Loom” which will teach them the art of capturing beasts. During this mission, players will encounter a character named Deek who will provide them with a special magical item called the Nab Sack, resembling Newt Scamander’s enchanted briefcase from the “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” movies. Armed with the Nab Sack, players will assume the role of a Magizoologist, rescuing endangered creatures from poachers.

In order to capture creatures using the Nab Sack, players must first equip it as if it were a spell. Once equipped, they can cast the Nab Sack by aiming and firing at their desired creature. The process of utilizing the Nab Sack operates in a manner akin to casting spells within the game.

Keeping in mind the Harry Potter universe, players have the option to employ spells like Accio or Levioso to prevent a creature from escaping, allowing them to capture it using the Nab Sack. This particular element of the game creates a Pokémon-esque experience.

How To Ride & Get Mounts At Hogwarts Legacy

Additionally, if you have received any other mounts as a pre-order bonus, such as the Thestral, they will also become accessible to you at this point.

The Vivarium Problem

In the mission where the catching of creatures is introduced, you will receive access to a Vivarium in the . It will become apparent that not all animal species can be housed in your Vivarium. Due to limited capacity, only four species can be accommodated at once. Fortunately, there is a solution to this predicament. Instead of enlarging the current Vivarium, you can unlock additional Vivariums for the Room of Requirement.

In order to access the second Vivarium situated in a coastal region, it is necessary to fulfill the requirements of the side mission called “The Plight of the House-Elf.” This mission becomes accessible after successfully accomplishing the main mission titled “The High Keep.”

In order to reach the third Vivarium, specifically the swamp biome, you need to successfully complete the side quest titled “Foal of the Dead.” This quest becomes accessible after finishing the main story chapter known as “Charles Rookwood’s Trial.”

After acquiring all three Vivariums, you will have the ability to safely accommodate all species, effectively preventing any poaching incidents. By utilizing the techniques taught by Deek to nourish and care for your animals, you will be able to obtain valuable resources such as feathers and fur. These resources can then be utilized to enhance your equipment or create new attributes at The Loom.

If you find yourself overwhelmed with too many creatures to care for, you have the option to sell any extra animals to the store “Brood and Peck” located in Hogsmeade. Rest assured, the store guarantees to find loving homes for your beloved creatures, alleviating any concerns you may have about their well-being.

Enjoy completing your collection of beasts!
