9. BAS-P (MPX)

The BAS-P weapon is not necessarily a poor choice. It does not have any major weaknesses; its handling, range, damage, and recoil are all acceptable. However, it lacks any outstanding qualities that would make it exceptional. Consequently, we must rank it last among the competitive SMGs.

While the BAS-P is undeniably an impressive firearm that offers an enjoyable experience, it lacks a defined role or purpose within the current meta.

8. PDSW 528 (P90)

Similar to previous iterations in Call of Duty games, the P90’s exceptionally large magazine is offset by its relatively weak firepower. While its time to kill may not be the most impressive, it compensates with its high rate of fire, impressive bullet velocity, and excellent mobility. While it may not match up against top-tier SMGs, it should not be disregarded as the worst option either.

If you’re a fan of the P90, don’t let it discourage you. Each SMG in MW2 can be effective, albeit with some necessary tweaks to your gameplay style.

7. MX9 (AUG Para)

The MX9, being the baby SMG variant of the AUG, offers a highly enjoyable experience. With manageable recoil, strong handling, and decent range, it has several positive aspects. However, we cannot rank it higher due to its inability to outperform other available options.

If this receives a damage boost, it will certainly require an increase in level.

6. Minibak (PP19 Bizon)

The Bizon has made a comeback, and its generously sized default magazine remains a valuable bonus. Similar to the P90, the developers have opted to balance its attributes by reducing its damage compared to its direct competitor, the Vaznev-9K from the AK platform.

Regardless of TTK, the Minibak’s excellent strafe speeds make it a popular choice.

5. FSS Hurricane

The FSS Hurricane functions as an SMG variant of the M4, featuring a unique magazine placement on top of the barrel similar to the P90. This design allows for enhanced mobility, ease of control, and accuracy. With its impressive range capabilities, it serves as an ideal flexible weapon for individuals seeking speed and agility without compromising on range or the need for an Overkill loadout.

The SMG is likely the top choice for mid-range engagements, but when it comes to close-range encounters, it will be outperformed by the top-tier SMGs in the meta.

4. Fennec 45 (Vector)

The Fennec 45, also known as the Vector, is undeniably a formidable choice when used strategically. Its standout feature is its incredibly rapid rate of fire, making it particularly lethal in close-quarters combat. However, due to its limited ammo capacity, it leaves little room for mistakes. While this weapon excels in Warzone 2, it can also prove effective in multiplayer matches if you carefully select your battles.

If you are aiming to enhance the Fennec’s level, we recommend engaging in Hardpoint matches and focusing on capturing the point.

3. VEL 46 (MP7)

Although the MP7 boasts low recoil and an impressive firing rate, it falls slightly short in terms of kill efficiency compared to the two other SMGs mentioned below. Consequently, it currently holds a respectable third place as it seems to be outperformed by its counterparts.

Regrettably, it falls short of the benchmarks established by the MW2019 MP7.

2. Lachmann Sub (MP5)

The Lachmann Sub is essentially the SMG variant of the well-known Lachmann-556, which is commonly referred to as the MP5 in Call of Duty. True to the game’s tradition, it remains one of the most potent submachine guns in Modern Warfare 2. Despite its substantial 50-round magazine, it offers exceptional mobility while delivering effective damage. Additionally, it proves to be more user-friendly compared to the top-tier SMGs, making it a suitable choice based on individual skill level.

1. Vaznev-9K

Introducing the undeniable frontrunner, the Vaznev-9K, emerges as the top choice. Ever since the AK74u was restricted in professional play, we witnessed a widespread adoption of this firearm. It appears that the Vaznev-9K will dominate as the preferred SMG in the upcoming 2023 CDL season.

What sets the Vaznev apart? Although it may not be the most user-friendly weapon, those with sufficient skill to harness its exceptional mobility can fearlessly dominate any close-range battle with this outstanding firearm.
