Stray Could Come To Nintendo Switch Soon

Stray, the indie hit from BlueTwelve Studio, is currently limited to PC and PlayStation. However, there is a possibility of a Nintendo Switch version being released in the near future. Here is all the information you need to know.Released in August 2022, Stray swiftly swept the gaming world by storm. Thus, it came as no surprise when, a few months later, Stray claimed victory in both the Best Indie and Best Debut Indie categories at the Game Awards. Not only did I play the cute cat adventure, but everyone else did too. It was a game that captured the hearts of many, being known as one of the most charming and pure games of 2022.

Fortunately, those who possessed a PC, PS4, or PS5 were able to experience the delightful cyberpunk cat game known as Stray, as it was exclusively released on these platforms. Unfortunately, Xbox and Switch players were unable to partake in the excitement. Nevertheless, there is hope on the horizon as rumors suggest that a version of Stray for the Switch may already be in the works.

Although Stray is currently unavailable for Nintendo Switch, there is still some hope for its release on the handheld console from the Japanese publisher. This optimism stems from a small detail observed in the initial teaser trailer of the game, which was unveiled in 2020.

The trailer concludes with a message indicating that Stray will only be exclusive to consoles for a limited duration. This strongly implies that the game will eventually be available on platforms other than PlayStation. Annapurna Interactive, the publisher, appears to have reached an agreement with Sony for a time-limited exclusive release, a common occurrence in the gaming industry today.

Stray: BlueTwelve Studio’s Cat Game Likely To Be Released On Other Platforms

Although the loss of console exclusivity for Stray seems imminent, it remains uncertain if the game will be available on Nintendo Switch. This is due to the outdated hardware of the console, which may pose a challenge for running a visually stunning game like Stray, known for its impressive 3D graphics.

Nevertheless, the PC’s capability falls short, giving rise to a possibility of a potential Stray Switch port capable of running the game. Alternatively, numerous games have adopted a “Cloud Version” for the Switch, allowing the game to be streamed directly to the console.

Given the immense success of Stray and the Switch’s esteemed status as a prime platform for indie games, it is highly anticipated that all parties involved will make concerted efforts to bring the cat game to the console.
