In the past, Mafia was the ultimate game. All the popular kids in the schoolyard were obsessed with it, and if you weren’t playing, you were considered uncool. It reached a point where Mafia was even cooler than GTA because it had that “real mafia vibe” – although as kids, we didn’t really grasp the concept. Nonetheless, it undeniably had a raw and gritty appeal.

When it comes to GTA, we can tell that you must be eagerly anticipating GTA 6. Take a look at all the information we have gathered about the game up until now.

Many individuals are eagerly awaiting a new Mafia game, as the previous installment, Mafia 3, released in 2017, failed to meet our expectations. Although the Mafia Definitive Edition in 2020 was exceptional, we still crave something new and exciting.

Fortunately, the official confirmation of Mafia 4’s development brings good news, as the game is currently in its initial stages of development. Additionally, thanks to a recent job listing, we have gained further insights into the game.

Mafia 4 Looks To Feature Stealth & Multiplayer

Details about Mafia 4 are being unintentionally disclosed by Hangar 13, the game’s developer, from various sources. The first leak came from a job listing (more details on that later), and now another slip-up has occurred. A LinkedIn post advertising positions for a Principal AI Designer and Lead AI Designer has revealed that the game will include a Stealth system, akin to Mafia 3. Hopefully, this new Stealth system will surpass its predecessor in terms of quality.

Collaborate closely with the AI Lead and other stakeholders to guarantee the creation of captivating Stealth and Combat gameplay experiences. Take an active role in designing and developing both combat and non-combat Non-Playable Characters (NPCs).

A new job posting for a Senior Systems Designer provides additional details. The desired qualifications include experience with AAA titles, multiplayer games, and/or live game design. This raises the question: Could Mafia 4 potentially include multiplayer? If so, it would be an exciting addition and a first for the series.

Pre-Production Status & Unreal Engine 5 Revealed

Hangar 13 has previously posted a job listing that offered insights into their game. In the past, they sought a programmer for their undisclosed multi-platform game, currently in pre-production, utilizing Unreal Engine 5.

Considering the low probability of Hangar 13 developing a different AAA game apart from Mafia 4, it is highly probable that this statement refers to the mentioned title. This information confirms the earlier speculation about the game being created using Unreal Engine 5, and also reveals that the game is currently in the pre-production stage.

Release Date Expectation

This implies that the foundational concepts and structures are currently being established and carefully planned, while the team is being assembled. Consequently, the release of Mafia 4 is still a considerable time away, and we anticipate that it will take approximately three to four years for the game to reach completion and be made available to the public.

Is it possible that Mafia 4 will be released prior to GTA 6? For those who are curious about all the latest information on the upcoming GTA, feel free to watch this video.

What Else We Know About Mafia 4

According to a report from Kotaku, Mafia 4 has been given the codename Nero. Fans of the series will be delighted to hear that the game will be a prequel, delving into the origins of the Salieri family and returning to the franchise’s roots.

It appears that in the upcoming Mafia game, leaked information suggests that you will embark on your criminal journey as a character named Salieri, who is the leader of a prominent family.

According to Nick Baker, co-founder of XboxEra, in a recent episode of the XboxEra podcast, the Salieris, who were originally from Italy, will see the setting of Mafia 4 in Sicily from 1890 to 1920.

The mere mention of this setting immediately brings to mind The Godfather trilogy, particularly The Godfather 2. Similar to the film, it serves as a prequel showcasing the ascent of Don Corleone, beginning in Italy and then transitioning to America. Mafia may be embarking on a comparable journey. With such a captivating backdrop, it would be impossible to resist.
