Respawn Entertainment, renowned for their popular first-person shooters Apex Legends and Titanfall, pleasantly astonished the gaming community in 2019 with the launch of Jedi: Fallen Order. This game achieved tremendous success both in terms of critical acclaim and commercial performance, making it only natural for a sequel to be anticipated.

Finally, after a lengthy wait, the eagerly awaited announcement has arrived. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, rather than Fallen Order 2, has been revealed as the official title for the sequel. This installment will continue the successful lineage of “Jedi” themed games following the initial release.

The Fallen Order stands out as an exceptional Star Wars game and action-packed experience in recent times, evoking nostalgic memories of playing Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy. However, it left us yearning for more, with various aspects of the game having untapped potential and room for enhancement. This is precisely where the sequel has the opportunity to captivate fans and exceed expectations.

Do we have any information about the game? EA has shared the release date and provided some insights about the highly awaited game through various trailers. Here’s everything you should be aware of regarding the upcoming game, set to be released in March.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Release Date: EA Delays Fallen Order Sequel

At the Game Awards 2022, the release date for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has been unveiled. Originally scheduled for March 17, 2023, the highly anticipated sequel to Fallen Order was set to be available on PC, Xbox Series, and PS5. However, in late January, EA made an announcement stating that Jedi: Survivor would be delayed, pushing the new release date to April 28, 2023. This news brings excitement as the game is exclusively designed for next-generation consoles, promising significant advancements in graphics and technology.

Naturally, there will be an appealing pre-order incentive including in-game cosmetics along with two books that will be released around the same time as the game. The prequel book, Star Wars Battle Scars, is set to be released on March 7, while the official art book for Jedi: Survivor will come out on May 2.

The Gameplay Looks Amazing

Based on the trailers and information provided by EA, it appears that the gameplay for the upcoming game has undergone substantial expansion. The Game Awards trailer showcases Cal utilizing a variety of new features such as a grappling hook, a blaster, and mounts, which were not present in the previous installment.

During an interview with Game Informer, Stig Asmussen, the game director, confirmed the inclusion of tameable mounts and various combat stances in the game. These stances will encompass the use of different lightsaber types, such as the dual sword or the Kylo Ren-style crossguard sword. Additionally, one of the stances will involve the utilization of a blaster.

Jedi: Survivor’s system bears a striking resemblance to that of [game name], and that is undoubtedly a positive aspect. The combat in [game name] was enriched with layers of complexity, rendering the encounters more captivating. We anticipate a comparable impact in Jedi: Survivor.

How The Story of Cal Kestis And The Jedi Continues

Survivor, the upcoming installment, will serve as a direct continuation of Fallen Order, unfolding five years following the events depicted in the initial game. The initial “Jedi” game transpired half a decade after “Revenge of the Sith” and predominantly revolved around a diverse set of characters previously unseen in the Star Wars universe.

In case you haven’t played it yet, let’s not spoil the exact unfolding of events. In this game, you assume the role of Cal Kestis, a young Padawan who is being hunted down by a band of Sith trained under Darth Vader. Alongside the rebels Cere Junda and Greez Dritus, as well as the adorable drone BD-1, Cal embarks on a journey following the footsteps of former Jedi Master Eno Cordova. Their mission is to locate the last surviving Jedi in the entire galaxy.

The upcoming sequel to Fallen Order will take place several years later, where Cal and his companions continue to be pursued by the empire and are in constant hiding. Although EA has only released a brief game description, many specific elements have yet to be disclosed.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor takes place half a decade after the occurrences in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Cal is faced with the daunting task of evading the Empire’s relentless pursuit, all while carrying the immense burden of being among the few Jedi left in the entire galaxy.

The story of Jedi: Survivor remains largely unknown at this time. The Game Awards trailer introduces us to fresh characters and offers a glimpse into a slightly darker ambiance. Our anticipation is that the writing will maintain the enjoyable nature of the initial game. We will provide further updates on the character and plot details once they become available.
