However, due to frequent new events and seasonal releases, these timings may vary. Hence, it is advisable to consider these times as a rough guideline rather than a precise schedule.

Warzone Modes Explained

Battle Royale

Well…yeah, have you played Warzone? Okay, sorry, I sound like a d*ck. This is the standard Warzone mode, usually you can play it in teams of one, two, three, or four, and the aim is to survive in a slowly shrinking area. You don’t have respawns, but you do get one opportunity when you die to fight in the gulag, and if you win your fight you can redeploy to the map. Otherwise, one of your teammates can pay for you to respawn at a buy station (if they’re still alive).
The only BR map available is called but more will be released eventually.

Modern Warfare 2 Ground War Modes Explained

Ground War

The Ground War mode is an epic 32 vs 32 battle, resembling a colossal domination game, where teams strive to conquer and maintain control over five distinct objectives. These intense battles take place on expansive maps.

The majority of the maps are situated in the recently introduced Al Mazrah location, while a few of them are based in Mexico. Consequently, there have been discussions and theories regarding the possibility of a Battle Royale map centered around Las Almas in Mexico.

Invasion

Invasion is an immersive 20 vs 20 Team Deathmatch experience, set on the familiar Ground War maps. However, in this thrilling game mode, both teams are accompanied by a battalion of AI-controlled bots to provide additional support. Let’s witness the gripping action of Invasion firsthand:

Modern Warfare 2 6v6 Modes Explained

Prison Rescue

Prison Rescue operates in a no respawn mode, similar to MW2019’s Cyber Attack, but with the ability to revive. The objective of the game is to reach 500 points before anyone else. In each round, you will either be on the attacking or defensive side, with the sides alternating every two rounds.

We are avid fans of the mode that plays out like a slightly simplified version of SnD, where attackers aim to earn points by rescuing hostages and safely returning them to their spawn point, while defenders strive to prevent this from happening.

Prison Rescue is observed to have a gameplay style reminiscent of Search and Destroy, emphasizing competitiveness. To maximize performance, it is recommended to employ the current meta loadouts.

Knockout

Knockout mode in Prison Rescue does not offer respawns, but allows revives. However, teams must retrieve a neutral bag from the center of the map in this mode. Once picked up, the bag triggers a timer, and teams must hold onto it until the timer runs out.

Although the concept is straightforward, it proves ineffective as a mode due to the bag’s visibility compromising the player’s position and putting them at a significant disadvantage. As a result, it is advisable for both teams to disregard the bag and approach the game more like a traditional Team Deathmatch (TDM).

3rd Person Moshpit

This mode combines various respawn modes (Hardpoint, Headquarters, Domination, Kill Confirmed, and Team Deathmatch) but adds a twist of using a 3rd-person camera for everyone. The camera will stay in 3rd-person view unless you opt to zoom in with a scope of 3x magnification or higher. It’s pretty awesome to experience.

We’re hoping for more 3rd-person modes to be added in the next playlist update. | © Activision

If you’ve been working hard for a while and are in need of a more relaxed and casual experience, we recommend trying out this mode.

Quickplay / Classic Modes

Additionally, there is the classic Quickplay mode available, which encompasses all the traditional modes played in a 6v6 setting. Furthermore, you have the option to customize your Quickplay experience by filtering and selecting specific game modes.

In Quickplay, we have a selection of classic modes to choose from.

  • Team Deathmatch
  • Free-For-All
  • Kill Confirmed
  • Hardpoint
  • Headquarters
  • Domination
  • Search and Destroy
  • Prison Rescure
  • Knockout

Similar to the times of old.

And that’s the update folks, providing you with all the modes available for this week. Is it the playlist update you were hoping for? Or are you still unsatisfied?
