Thousands of champion skins have been released by Riot Games, including extremely rare, highly sought-after legacy skins. Additionally, for those who wish to display their prestige, Riot has introduced exclusive skins that can be acquired using prestige points.

Today, we will delve into the world of League of Legends skins and their varying costs. Legendary, epic, and ultimate skins are commonly mentioned, but what exactly do these terms signify? Join us as we uncover the realm of ultimate skins, the pinnacle of skin tiers.

What Are Ultimate Skins in League of Legends?

As previously stated, ultimate Skins in League of Legends represent the highest-priced category of skins. The development process for these skins is considerably lengthier, often incorporating new technology. However, there have been indications, based on a blog post from 2020, that upcoming ultimate skins may undergo some changes.

  • In order to enjoy playing with these ultimate skins, it is essential to have the Logitech G Pro Wireless gaming mouse, which provides the best setup.

According to Riot Belissimoh, Riot Games aims to create a truly special experience for players with a limited number of League of Legends ultimate skins. These skins require going the extra mile in their development.

Do not mistake ultimate skins for legendary skins either. While this skin may have an impressive backing animation and one of the most visually stunning ultimates in the game, it is only classified as a legendary skin. Did Riot introduce any groundbreaking or innovative elements to it? No, they simply crafted a visually appealing skin that seamlessly aligns with the Dark Cosmic universe, but that does not align with the true essence of ultimate skins.

The release of ultimate skins is exceptionally rare because they demand additional time and effort in their development, creation, and delivery. This is why there are only six ultimate skins available in League of Legends at present. Therefore, it is important to note that even if you are fond of Lee Sin or Aurelion Sol, it does not guarantee that they will have ultimate skins.

Pulsefire Ezreal – 3250 RP

Released in 2012, Pulsefire Ezreal holds the distinction of being the inaugural ultimate skin and continues to maintain its popularity among Ezreal enthusiasts. Despite not being a world championship skin or overly flashy, what sets this skin apart and grants it ultimate status?

The Pulsefire Ezreal skin features four distinct forms that can be unlocked by playing the game and leveling up his ultimate ability. With each form, Ezreal’s armor becomes intricately detailed, accompanied by new voice lines, textures, and animations. Additionally, in 2018, the skin was revamped to align with the current standards of skins, ensuring a more modern appearance.

Spirit Guard Udyr – 3250 RP

Udyr, the second ultimate skin released in Spirit Guard, may not appear particularly unique initially. However, like other ultimate skins, it offers various forms. In 2020, the skin underwent a rework to keep up with the times, and with Udyr receiving significant changes in 2022, it is likely that this skin will also be revisited.

In terms of his stances, there are a total of five distinctive variations in this skin, namely Tiger, Turtle, Bear, Phoenix, and his base form. Considering the forthcoming rework, it appears that Riot has drawn significant inspiration from his Guardian skin while developing his fresh appearance. Hence, it is intriguing to witness the extent of updates that will be introduced to the ultimate skin in 2022.

Udyr is set to receive a major update, with his ultimate skin being one of the key highlights. Aside from addressing his outdated gameplay, Riot has been meticulously developing this single skin since April 2022, aiming to capture the essence of what an ultimate skin in 2022 should embody.

DJ Sona – 3250 RP

In 2015, DJ Sona was released, offering players the ability to switch between three forms. Each form corresponds to a distinct song: Concussive, Ethereal, and Kinetic. These songs can be utilized at any point during the game by simply inputting commands such as /toggle, /g, or CTRL+5/CTRL+7 to select the desired form.

DJ Sona has gained immense popularity with players due to the diverse visual and musical experiences provided by each of her forms. While Sweetheart Sona and Odyssey Sona maintain their own dedicated fan bases, DJ Sona stands as one of her most beloved skins.

Elementalist Lux – 3250 RP

This is probably the most epic ultimate skin of them all. | © Riot Games

This skin is included in our list of most expensive skins as well. Why? Because when it was released, there was a special ‘master edition’ available for 3950 Riot Points. Although this edition is no longer available in the store, players can still purchase the Elementalist Lux skin for 3250 RP, which is already quite expensive, isn’t it?

Why is Elementalist Lux unique? It offers a wide range of forms to choose from, surpassing the options available to Ezreal (4), Udyr (5), and DJ Sona (3). Elementalist Lux takes customization to a whole new level with 10 forms that can be combined according to your preference.

How is that even possible? Well, it’s quite simple. Just equip your Elementalist Lux skin and begin the game. Every time you strike your opponent, you accumulate stacks. Once you’ve gathered a sufficient number of stacks, you can select an element to enhance your abilities. As you continue playing and accumulate more stacks, you’ll have the opportunity to choose another element to combine with the initial one. Here are the various combinations that you can achieve:

  • Nature + Magma = Elemental fusion of fire and earth.
  • Air + Storm – Fire
  • Nature – Mystic = Water
  • Air + Water – Ice
  • Light – Nature + Air OR Water + Fire

There are two combinations available for creating a third form. Unfortunately, unlike DJ Sona’s ability to toggle through songs, Elementalist Lux does not allow toggling through elements. Nonetheless, this skin stands out as one of Riot’s most elaborate and distinctive creations.

Gun Goddess Miss Fortune – 2275 RP

Gun Goddess Miss Fortune is the sole ultimate skin that falls short of the 3250 Riot Points price tag. Despite being slightly cheaper, it debuted in 2018. Similar to other ultimate skins, Gun Goddess Miss Fortune also offers various forms for players to select from, including Scarlet Fair, Zero Hour, Royal Arms, and Starswam.

Riot Games has introduced an in-game user interface in the fountain for players to select their desired form, in contrast to DJ Sona’s toggleable songs. This functionality resembles Elementalist Lux’s special UI for choosing an element. However, Lux needs to accumulate stacks before accessing this feature, whereas Miss Fortune can freely activate it while in the base.

K/DA All Out Seraphine – 3250 RP
