The wand is a crucial component of your kit, and its importance cannot be overstated. Choosing between Unicorn Hair, Phoenix Feather, or Dragon Heartstring is entirely your decision. To assist you in making this choice, we have compiled a comprehensive guide to wands in Hogwarts Legacy.

Hogwarts Legacy: How To Get A Wand

Attention! There is a major spoiler ahead. Are you ready for it? If so, we will now unveil the method to acquire a wand in Hogwarts Legacy.

At the beginning, you are given a wand that was previously owned by someone else. However, early on in the game, you are tasked with a quest to purchase your very own wand from the Ollivanders store in Hogsmeade. During this special ceremony, you have the opportunity to personally select various aspects of your wand. You can decide on the wand’s shape, the type of wood it is made from, its length, flexibility, and even the core material.

The wands have got us really excited, but the mounts have taken our excitement to a whole new level.

Wand Making In Hogwarts Legacy

When selecting your wand, you have the freedom to personalize it according to your preferences. However, it’s important to note that these customizations are purely aesthetic and do not impact the wand’s abilities. Nevertheless, since you will be using your wand frequently, it is advisable to invest some effort into customizing it to your liking.

Style

The term “style” refers to the wand’s shape and color, which are purely cosmetic and will not impact its functionality. The available choices are as follows:

  • Notched
  • Classic
  • Soft Spiral

  • Stalk
  • Ringed
  • Crooked Spiral
  • Natural

There are three distinct colors available for each of these shapes, all of which are different shades of gray and brown. It is anticipated that the “Ringed” shape will be the most favored since it bears a slight resemblance to the Elder Wand.

Core

There are three options to choose from, which effectively serve as the core that “charges” the wand.

  • Unicorn Hair: Renowned for its unwavering magic abilities.
  • The Phoenix Feather possesses the ability to generate a vast array of magical powers.
  • Dragon Heartstring is renowned for its ability to produce potent magic.

It’s important to note that this selection is purely cosmetic and does not actually affect your magic, despite the various descriptions in the game that may suggest otherwise.

Once you’ve selected your core, your wand is complete. It’s time to begin mastering all those spells!

What’s The Best Wand In Hogwarts Legacy?

As the choice of wand is purely based on appearance, there is no objectively superior wand option. You have the liberty to select a Dragon Heartstring core and customize the wand’s appearance according to your preference. For instance, we personally prefer a 13-inch long, solid wand made of Blackthorn wood with a ringed and brown design (it can be challenging to describe wands without unintentionally alluding to phallic references).

The ringed wand possesses an appealing aesthetic, and in English folklore, Blackthorn is the tree that is closely linked to witches and magic. Hence, using it feels fitting.

So, there you have it, everyone! We’ve just given you a full rundown of wands in Hogwarts Legacy. Now, it’s time for you to decide which wand you’ll be crafting. But wait, have you made up your mind about which house you belong to? If not, we recommend reading this article first on the .
