XDefiant: Release Officially Delayed

Ubisoft had initially scheduled the release of XDefiant for summer 2023, aiming to introduce their free-to-play arena shooter as a competitor to Call of Duty. However, it has come to light that fans will need to exercise a bit more patience as the release date has been pushed back.

Are you familiar with Ubisoft’s XDefiant? If not, let us give you a quick overview. XDefiant is an upcoming arcade shooter aiming to be a more competitive alternative to CoD (similar to BO4).

  • There will be both 6vs6 and 4vs4 variations of popular shooter modes such as Hardpoint / King of the Hill, Domination, Kill Confirmed, and Team Deathmatch.
  • Players have the option to select a faction to play as, each granting them a unique in-game ability.
  • The story takes place in the present or a time very close to it, where you will find familiar weapons such as M4s and MP5s, alongside advanced features like active camouflage and bubble shields.
  • In order to ensure a deliberate high skill-ceiling for this game, they are seeking guidance from former professional players from similar games, such as Aches (also known as Patty P).

If you’re tired of Battle Royales and crave a classic arcade shooter experience, XDefiant is the game for you. Read on to discover more about the XDefiant release date and the upcoming beta.

XDefiant Release Date: When Will The Full Game Launch?

XDefiant’s release date was initially set for “Summer 2023,” leading many to anticipate an August launch. However, it has now been revealed that the game’s release will be postponed, prolonging our wait for its arrival.

In the middle of September, executive producer Mark Rubin shared an update on Ubisoft’s website regarding the release date of XDefiant. Rubin revealed that the game did not successfully pass the submission process required to make it available on PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

The initial plan was to release XDefiant by the end of August. However, this had to be postponed due to the unsuccessful submission. Rubin now discloses that the launch of XDefiant is expected either in “mid-to-end of September” or in “early/mid-October,” contingent on the outcome of the upcoming submission.
