Warcraft 2 Movie: “The Beginning” Sequel Could Be A Reboot

In 2016, the Warcraft franchise made its big screen debut with “The Beginning”. However, despite its initial release, a Warcraft 2 movie never materialized. Now, we will explore the possibilities of a sequel or reboot for Blizzard’s beloved fantasy franchise.

When I think of video game franchises with limitless storytelling potential, World of Warcraft immediately comes to mind. This is likely due to my personal experience of playing and being captivated by World of Warcraft during my younger years.

In all honesty, there is a lack of interest in a movie depicting the current happenings in WoW due to their shallow storyline, particularly the Shadowlands expansion which proved to be a major letdown.

However, it’s hard to resist the temptation of witnessing the downfall of Arthas and Illidan. Their stories intertwine at certain moments, but trying to fit both narratives into a single movie would undoubtedly fail to capture their essence. It would simply be too overwhelming and would not do justice to their complex tales.

Although there are numerous incredible stories, it would be logical to adapt the one that centers around a fan-favorite character who is undeniably cool and impressively flashy. Additionally, his birth was highlighted in The Beginning, further strengthening the case for its adaptation.

Despite its success in China, “The Beginning” failed to make an impact in the US, leading to its disappointment for director Duncan Jones. Jones had always hoped to receive approval for another Warcraft film, but due to the underperformance of “The Beginning” at the box office, his dream remained unfulfilled.

Blizzard and Universal Pictures have seemingly contemplated producing another Warcraft movie for quite some time. However, their plans were disrupted by the unexpected arrival of the pandemic, and the subsequent events are widely known.

In early 2022, rumors surfaced suggesting that Blizzard and Universal are interested in incorporating a soft reboot of the story. The plan is to shift focus towards new characters and reverse certain decisions made in the first movie. However, rest assured that developments from the initial film will not be completely disregarded, but rather creative liberties will be taken. This means that even the unresolved cliffhanger involving Thrall from The Beginning might potentially be addressed.

However, the lingering uncertainty remains as to whether this movie will ever come to fruition. It has been well over a year since the initial rumors surfaced, yet there is still no indication of a new Warcraft film being in the works.

However, there are valid reasons to maintain belief in the possibility of another Warcraft movie. The enduring popularity of World of Warcraft, coupled with successful TV adaptations, serves as evidence that exceptions can be made. Additionally, the franchise holds significant financial potential that cannot be overlooked. Furthermore, Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard may introduce fresh perspectives and potential progress regarding the likelihood of a new Warcraft movie.

We firmly believe that a new Warcraft movie is inevitable. The real questions that occupy our minds are when it will be released and what captivating storyline it will present. Lok-Tar!

Alright, this is all the information we have gathered thus far, spiced up a bit with my own personal touch to add some entertainment value. Let’s observe how it unfolds.
